Everything a New Adventurer Needs to Know
❖ ❖ ❖
Welcome to Eapheron. Before you turn another page, I want to tell you what this book is, where it came from, and what kind of game you are about to be invited into. Two or three pages, no more. The world itself is waiting in Chapter 1, and it has been waiting some time.
This book is enough to roll up a character and play. The first part tells you what every Eapheroni knows about the world they grew up in: the gods, the places, the institutions, the Expundeus you are about to start working for. The second part tells you how to build your character mechanically.
This guide assumes some familiarity with D&D 5e/2024. If you are completely new to the game, your DM will walk you through the mechanical foundations before your first session.
How you read this depends on what you need.
Making a character now
Start with Chapters 1 and 6, then move to Chapters 7 and 10.
Time to absorb the world
Read it straight through. The order is deliberate.
Returning D&D player, new to Eapheron
Chapter 1 will orient you. Chapter 10 will tell you what is mechanically different here. Everything else is reference.
Fifteen minutes before the session
Read Chapter 1 and the opening of Chapter 4. That is enough to know who you are working for and why.
There are things in this world I have not told you. Some of them will surface during play. Some of them will not surface at all. That is deliberate. A setting that has no secrets is a setting that has been used up, and this one has not.
